Individuals who seek to demonstrate their proficiency in basic and advanced practices in Google Ads can opt to earn the Google Ads Certification. This professional accreditation allows you to prove that Google recognises you as a qualified expert in digital advertising.
The first step to earning this certification is to start the e-courses available in Academy for Ads, Google’s online training programme. Learning and practising in Google’s academy is free, which allows you to take the courses even if you don’t wish to earn the certification. Just create your Academy for Ads account and get your hands on!
So now we’ve reached the question that I wanted to talk about. Why do we have Google Ads specialists in-house? Why did we choose to get certified? Well, the advantages of the Google Ads Certification circle around three factors: trustworthiness, proficiency, and recognition.
To become certified in Google Ads, you need to pass the Google Ads Fundamentals plus one of the product area assessments available through the Academy for Ads: Search Advertising, Display Advertising, Mobile Advertising, Video Advertising, and Shopping Advertising. Previously, Mobile Advertising was included in the reward badge, but it has recently been deprecated, and it will no longer be available from October 2019 onwards.

The assessment consists of 65 questions. In 90 minutes, you’ll have to have completed the evaluation. Furthermore, a score of 80% is needed to pass.
Two positive aspects: firstly, the Google Ads Certification is available in 19 languages. Secondly, at some point, the product area assessment will expire. To keep your certification, you’ll need to retake both areas, which is a bit of a bother, but it’s totally worth it! Consequently, your team of experts will always be up-to-date with their knowledge, and, as a result, you’ll ensure the reliability of your business.
