Instagram is currently testing the contact button for businesses

Instagram was talking, earlier this year, that they were developing business profiles. How do these profiles for Instagram look like?

The profiles, which are currently being tested with a small audience, offer great features for marketers who run a business account on Instagram. The most visible difference between business profiles and a personal profile and also one of the best features is the “contact” button at the top of the screen that appears besides the “following” button. The second feature is a linkable location tag and directions, and finally the ability to categorize the business by type.

Contact button: when clicking the contact button, you will see the options “get directions” and “email”. Adding a “contact” button seems like both an easier way to get in touch with your followers and also protecting your email address from potential spammers.

Location tag: when clicking on the link in the bio you are able to view the location on a map. Maybe in the future you can search users by location, like on Facebook.

Category: by adding a category, you’re able to quickly and easily communicate with your followers.

Instagram introduced their new look

The new look includes an updated icon and app design for Instagram. Inspired by the previous app icon, the new one represents a simpler camera and the rainbow lives on in gradient form, Instagram said. You’ll also see updated icons for their other creative apps Layout, Boomerang and Hyperlapse.

They’ve also made improvements to how the Instagram app looks on the inside. The simpler design puts more focus on photos and videos without changing how you navigate the app.

“The Instagram community has evolved over the last five years from a place to share filtered photos to so much more—a global community of interests sharing more than 80 million photos and videos every day. Our updated look reflects how vibrant and diverse your storytelling has become” – Instagram©
